| Elements Contemporary Ballet combines the beauty of classical technique with the intensity of innovative contemporary dance. Founder and Artistic Director Mike Gosney has developed the company using the four elements of nature; fire, earth, air, and water; to each represent a major facet of dance; expression, physicality, focus, and freedom. Gosney has built a uniquely stylized repertory that the company now performs along with original work by guest choreographers such as James Gregg (BJM Danse, Azure and Artists), Sean Hilton (Armitage Gone! Dance), Brian Gephart (The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada), Brian Enos (Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Houston Ballet), Joseph Caruana (River North Dance Chicago, Elements Contemporary Ballet), and Victoria Vargas (Ballet Nacional de Venezuela, Luna Negra Dance Theatre). Elements thrills Chicago audiences in bi-annual concerts as well as engages youth in the art form with its new interactive community outreach program, Move with Elements. |
